Paul helps bridge language gap between locals, missionaries, and sponsors

Updated: Jul 20, 2024

Paul Ndene is from the Serer ethnicity, found on the southern edge of Dakar (Senegal's capital). Seers are predominantly Catholics, but after a few visits from missionaries, Paul's father started sending him to Christian services and small group meetings led by Hilario Chavez, a missionary from The Church of God in El Salvador. Paul gave his life to Christ during a Sunday service and soon got baptized. As Paul grew in knowledge and his walk with God, he started serving in the kid's ministry and as a youth group leader.

Paul attended college as an English student but graduated with a degree in Education. Paul worked for two years as a middle school teacher in a public school before answering God's calling to serve full-time with his wife, Suzanne, in the project House of Life, tutoring teenagers, which results in them being top students in their schools. Paul speaks English, French, and Wolof fluently, helping him bridge the language gap between locals, missionaries, and sponsors.

"Five months ago, I asked God to help me save money to buy Bibles, radios with memory cards for the Bible in audio in our local language (Wolof, Fulani, Serer) to distribute them to families I visited for evangelism. A few months later, the Lord adapted three Bibles in audio and others in writing that I shared in different houses as a gift. I saw their joy because some never had a Bible, and others could not read it. I thank God for this because I know that the Bible is our life manual." Said, Paul.

Paul's life and testimony inspire us to support his ministry with a monthly donation of USD 140.
